Designing a Year

Creating kikki.K’s 2027 Dated collection in collaboration with the Australian Museum.

For kikki.K’s 2027 Dated collection, I designed and delivered a complete range of diaries and calendars created in collaboration with the Australian Museum for its 200th anniversary.

Working closely with Creative Director Lisa Gorman, I developed the collection using imagery from the Museum’s archive, including the work of the Scott Sisters, translating these references into a contemporary kikki.K range while retaining the detail and character of the original material.

The collection spanned multiple diary formats, calendars and hundreds of interconnected internal pages, so a large part of the project was creating a design system that could work consistently across the entire range. Alongside the visual design, I considered hierarchy, usability, page structure and the small details that make a diary practical to use every day.

I worked across the project from design and illustration through to finished artwork, sampling and production, working closely with suppliers to resolve materials, print finishes and manufacturing requirements and carry the collection through to final production.
